ABOUT ANZEN SAFETY AND TRAINING

We have lived this.
At every level.

Anzen was built by people who have managed safety in the field, led teams through real incidents, and seen what happens when systems look good on paper but fail in practice. That experience is what we bring to every business we work with.

WHO WE ARE

Safety consulting that works in the real world, not just in the manual.

Anzen Safety and Training is a WHS consulting and training business based in Newcastle, supporting organisations across the Hunter Valley, Central Coast, and throughout Australia.

We work with business owners and their teams to identify risks, build capability, and put practical systems in place that actually get used. Not documents that sit in a folder. Not training that is forgotten by Friday.

We focus on what works in practice. That means understanding how your business actually operates before we tell you how to improve it.

HOW WE WORK

What you can expect from us.

Practical over theoretical

Every recommendation we make is grounded in how your business actually runs. We do not deliver generic advice and move on.

Honest about what we find

If your systems are not working, we will tell you. Our job is not to validate what you already have. It is to help you improve it.

Here for the long term

We build relationships, not just reports. The businesses we work with best are the ones we stay close to over time.

THE TEAM

People who have done the work.

Our team brings experience from health and safety, emergency services, clinical practice, and operational leadership. We understand high-risk environments because we have worked in them.

  • Glen Dunkley

    Managing Director

Glen is a highly experienced Health, Safety and Environment professional with a career spanning multinational operations and diverse industries. As a former Global Director of Health and Safety, he led strategic safety frameworks that protected people, built operational resilience, and embedded a culture of accountability across large organisations.

Today Glen brings that same standard to Australian businesses of every size. His focus is on solutions that align with business goals, are workable for frontline teams, and deliver lasting results rather than short-term compliance.

Beyond his consulting work, Glen was elected Director of Lifesaving on the Surf Life Saving NSW Board in November 2025, bringing over 30 years of volunteer experience to the role. He has previously served as a Hunter Branch Director of Lifesaving, State Duty Officer, and in various emergency management roles. It is the kind of hands-on commitment to community safety that shapes how he approaches every business he works with.

  • Michelle Weber

    Business Systems Manager

With over 20 years' experience designing and implementing management systems, Michelle specialises in creating processes that are efficient, sustainable, and actually used by the people they are built for.

At Anzen, Michelle ensures that consulting and training services are delivered seamlessly, that systems are practical to maintain, and that clients have clear, well-organised tools to work with long term.

  • Rachael Denahey

    First Aid and Safety Trainer

Rachael joined Anzen in 2025, bringing experience from Nursing and Paramedicine studies and years as an Emergency Nurse and Clinical Nurse Educator in some of Australia's busiest hospitals.

Her training is practical, engaging, and built on real clinical experience. Participants leave her sessions with genuine confidence, not just a certificate.

  • Ray Fedjo

    Senior Safety Trainer

Ray brings a robust background in workplace safety, operations, and emergency management across manufacturing, resources, emergency services, agriculture, retail, and hospitality. He has a comprehensive understanding of the real risks businesses face and how to manage them through practical, straightforward solutions.

His training sessions are grounded in realistic scenarios, delivered with clarity, and recognised nationally and internationally throughout his career.

  • Jonty

    WHS Team Member

Jonty brings fresh energy and a strong safety mindset to the Anzen team. With a background in surf lifesaving and sports training, he understands the importance of preparation, situational awareness, and confident action under pressure.

Now building his expertise in Workplace Health and Safety, Jonty's approachable nature and genuine passion for protecting people make him a valued contributor to every project he is involved in.

COMMUNITY

We believe in giving back.

Anzen supports a number of local sporting clubs, surf lifesaving organisations, and community groups across the Hunter region. Safer communities start with better prepared people, and that extends well beyond the workplace.

"I have never met a business owner who did not care about their people. Most just do not know where to start. That is what we are here for."

— Glen Dunkley, Managing Director
